so. i've been working on hogaya — and before i build the next bunch of things, i want my favourite reviewer to look through the plan and tell me what's good, what's pagalpanti, and what to drop.
hogaya is the friendliest task planner, for couples, friends & families who just want their lists to be pretty and simple.
No sign-up. No account. Koi login screen nahi. You just open the app, three demo tasks are already waiting — tap karo, swipe karo, aur seekho. Basically — the app's voice is like me rambling at 11 pm, but nicer.
At the end of every week, a cute little card pops up: “aaj sab hogaya ✨” — showing what you finished. You can share it on Instagram stories. (That's how most people will find us.)
Now the plan is to optionally let people sync their lists to a website — hogaya.app — so office wali Aditi can use it on her laptop, wedding planners like Rohan & Sneha can share lists, and everyone else who doesn't want any of that can just keep using the app the same way as always.

three people,
three very different ways.
the app is for all three — and the plan only works if each one feels like we built it for them. tap karo to switch between them.

Priya downloaded the app because her friend sent her a pretty recap card on Instagram. She opens hogaya — no login screen, no tutorial. Just three demo tasks saying “tap me ✨”.
She plays with them. Deletes them. Types her own: “pick up daaru for saturday”. No board needed — it just goes into the Inbox. Done.
Sunday night, she gets a soft notification: “your week is wrapped ✨”. Opens the app, sees her recap card, shares to Instagram. That's her whole experience.

Rohan downloads hogaya, starts dumping wedding tasks: book caterer, finalize venue, send invite list to mom. But he wants these on his laptop also, so he scrolls to Settings and sees the new option: “sync with web.”
Sign in with Google. One second. Done. Phone pe kuch change nahi hua, but now his tasks are safely backed up. He opens hogaya.app on his laptop — same tasks there.
He sends Sneha a share link for the Wedding board. She opens it in WhatsApp — beautiful board preview — clicks through, sees everything. Downloads the app herself. They're in sync.

Aditi works on her laptop all day. Phone pe notes likhna not her thing. She installs hogaya, plays with it, signs in, and then mostly uses hogaya.app on her laptop.
Keyboard shortcuts: N = new task, Space = tick, B = switch board. Sab kuch keyboard se. Her phone is only for adding things when she's out.
Whatever she adds on laptop, shows up on phone. Whatever she ticks on phone, disappears on laptop. End of week → download recap card as a PNG, drag it to Instagram.

inbox — a "no board" bucket
right now, you have to pick a board before adding a task. but most of the time nobody cares if “buy milk” is Personal or Shopping. inbox = throw it, sort later (or never).
optional login + sync
one new section in Settings: “sync with web.” tap karo, sign in with google/apple, tasks are now safely saved in the cloud and will show up on the website. skip karo, toh app waise hi chalegi. no one is forced.
a full website at hogaya.app
a browser version — same Today, same Boards, same Calendar, same Recaps. log in once, access from any laptop. keyboard shortcuts for the nerds. also gives us a proper home on the internet (for google-ability).
shareable links
on any board or recap, tap Share → get a pretty link like hogaya.app/b/abc123. send it on WhatsApp, Instagram, iMessage — shows a gorgeous preview. the person doesn't need to install the app to look.
ship kaise karenge,
one phase at a time.
sab ek saath nahi karunga. chhote chhote launches, har phase khud mein complete. agar beech mein ruk bhi gaya, app is still better than before.
the small wins
add the Inbox. add a few invisible timestamps (prep for sync — totally boring tech stuff).
sync foundations
add the "sync with web" section in Settings. hook up the cloud backup. first login upload works. still no website yet, but logged-in users have their data safely backed up.
the website launches
build hogaya.app — landing page, logged-in dashboard, shareable board links, pretty previews for WhatsApp.

Pro tier gating on the web, public profiles (optional), print view, tiny embeds for Notion. all the nice-to-have stuff.

seven promises
we won't break.
the app has a soul. agar yeh rules todenge, hogaya becomes just another todo app — and there are too many of those already.
the app works without an account. forever.
the moment we force login, we become every other boring todo app. no thanks.
non-sync users see zero extra pixels.
if priya never logs in, her app should look exactly the same as before. sync lives quietly in Settings.
offline is the default, not a "mode".
even if you're logged in, the app reads & writes locally first. sync happens in the background.
every line of text stays playful.
“nothing to do?? must be nice 😮💨” — not “No tasks yet.” har ek empty state, every toast, same care.
we don't bolt on features because competitors have them.
teams? projects? labels? nested sub-tasks? NO. hogaya is for personal & small-group life, and it stays there.
the coral is the brand.
no redesigns for the web. mobile and web should feel like the same app wearing different clothes.
shared links look gorgeous in a whatsapp preview.
if they don't, the whole sharing story falls apart. we treat this as a first-class feature.
